Privacy Policy

PaintWorks ("we", "us", "our") is a painting and decorating business based at 3 Elms Avenue, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 4JT. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and what rights you have over it.

What we collect
When you submit the quote request form on this site, we collect:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- The service you're enquiring about
- Any project details you write in the message field
- Your address, if you choose to give it (this field is optional)
- Whether you've ticked the box to receive marketing emails
If you accept our cookie banner, we also collect analytics and advertising data as described below.
How we use it
We use your details solely to respond to your enquiry, discuss your project, and provide a quote. We don't use it for marketing unless you separately tick the marketing consent box on the form to ask us to keep you updated, and we never sell or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time by emailing us.
How it's processed
Quote form submissions are handled by Web3Forms, a third-party form processing service that emails your submission directly to us. Web3Forms acts as a data processor on our behalf; see their privacy policy for how they handle data in transit.
Cookies and local storage
If you accept our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and Google Ads to measure how our advertising performs. These set cookies and share some data with Google; see Google's privacy and data use policy for how they handle it. Tracking only activates once you accept — before that, and if you decline, the only thing stored in your browser is a small local-storage flag recording your choice, which contains no personal data and isn't shared with anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to respond to you and, where a job goes ahead, for our ordinary business and accounting records. If you'd like us to delete your details, just ask.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct it, if it's inaccurate or incomplete
- Request its deletion
- Object to, or restrict, how we use it
- Ask for a copy in a portable format

Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, we'd appreciate the chance to put it right directly, but you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
